Sicilian Barocco in Ragusa

The city of Ragusa is a large reservoir of art and important architectural sites that best express the Sicilian Baroque style, where it is possible to admire numerous buildings recognized, in 2002, as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO together with other structures located in the Val di Noto. These important buildings were built after the 1693 earthquake which devastated much of Eastern Sicily. Important architects of the time took part in the reconstruction of that period who, thanks to their work, were able to give birth to the magnificent buildings that we can still enjoy today.
